About this site

Composite Electronics is the web home for discussions and build logs on model aircraft, electronics and software. It was launched in December 2025 by Tim Brocklehurst. Any opinions expressed on this site are my own, not those of any employer or associate.

This site is for purely technical discussions, it is an oasis, if you will, free from marketing, politics and business. None of the projects on this site has been done for profit.

About Me

I've been an engineer for twenty years, and in that time I've worked on simulation of fluid flows and dynamics for ships and submarines, written simulation software, instrumented test models, developed subsea systems and designed and programmed data buoys across the world and provided remote support to customers in some very inaccessible parts of the planet.

Over my time in industry I have gained a profound understanding that it's the small detail that makes the big systems work properly. This site is about the small details.

Recommendations and reviews

Where I make a recommendation about tools or equipment it will be because I've used it and it works. I won't accept any tools or equipment for review or donation, mostly because I don't have the time or space. I'm not interested in writing tool reviews, there are loads of other people who do that. This is a personal blog anyway, I doubt anyone will read it.

How's it hosted?

This site is hosted on my own server, and runs on the Ghost platform. If you like it, check them out, the self-hosted version is free.
